How does quality early learning help your child's development
Quality early learning gives children new opportunities and experiences. The interactions between educators and children that occur in an early learning service have a significant and lasting effect on all the development and learning that follows. That’s why the ratio of educators to children under the National Quality Framework is so important to ensure each child receives the attention they need.
Belonging, Being and Becoming – The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) describes the principles, practices and outcomes that support and enhance young children’s learning from birth to school age, as well as their transition to school. The National Quality Framework (NQF) provides a national approach to regulation, assessment and quality improvement for early childhood education and care services across Australia.
Every service is expected to develop their own strategy to implement the framework. Our educators subscribe to the planning cycle prescribed by the EYLF. When developing programs they reflect on what works well and what might need improvement to support the most effective and engaging programs based on each individual child’s interests.
The Greek Community Childcare Centre aims to exceed the national quality standard across each of the seven quality areas which are:
- Educational program and practice
- Children’s health and safety
- Physical environment
- Staffing arrangements
- Relationships with children
- Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
- Governance and leadership
